Goals/Objectives:
Lake County Partners (LCP) is an economic development corporation located in Lake County, Illinois. LCP operates in much the same way a Chamber of Commerce might, and services over 400 member companies in the Chicago metro area. LCP had a small and inflexible website and wanted to dramatically increase the scope of their Internet offerings.
Special Needs:
LCP required dynamically updated content in a variety of sections of the site, including newsletters, upcoming events, resource links, and other items. LCP wanted to offer members additional benefits such as job listings, resume postings, and secure access to member profiles.
Process:
Webmaster, Inc. subcontracted this job through a third-party development company. Webmaster, Inc. was asked to manage the project and manage the third-party's staff to scope and build the website. Working with LCP principles, Webmaster, Inc. developed a general specification for the site. Once the specification was agreed upon, Webmaster, Inc. worked with a team of programmers and designers to put all of the elements together.
Features:
- Soup-to-nuts content management system allows LCP flexibility and the ability to make updates and changes quickly and easily.
- The site is a complex series of interrelated programs and databases.
- Webmaster, Inc. not only managed the third-party staff but also trained them in website development procedures, database design, and ColdFusion programming techniques.
Ongoing Requirements:
The third-party development company maintains all aspects of the website.

Work Performed By Third Party:
